JPG to PDF

Photos and scans gathered into one document, each page its image.

Runs in your browser — the file is not uploaded anywhere.

About JPG to PDF

A PDF is the form most places want a document in, and a photograph is the form most phones produce it in. Between the two is a small, constant chore: a passport page, a signed form photographed on a desk, receipts for a claim, a stack of handwritten notes. Each is a picture, and what you need is one document.

This tool gathers pictures into a single PDF, one page per image, in the order you list them. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP, turns photographs the right way up, and lets you choose whether each page is the size of its picture or a standard sheet. It runs in your browser, so photos of identity documents and receipts are not uploaded.

How to turn images into a PDF

  1. Choose your pictures, or drop them onto the page. You can select several at once and add more afterwards.
  2. Put them in the order you want them to appear. The list is the page order, so the first picture becomes page 1.
  3. Under "Page size", pick "Same as picture" to make every page exactly the shape of its image, or A4 or US Letter to fit each image on a standard sheet, turned to suit it.
  4. Under "Margin", choose None, Small or Big. A margin leaves a white border around the picture, which looks more like a document and is kinder to a printer.
  5. Press the button, check the preview and save the PDF.

When you would use it

  • Sending identity documents, proof of address or a signed form as one file instead of a pile of attachments.
  • Turning photographed receipts into a single claim document.
  • Making a PDF of handwritten notes or a whiteboard, one picture per page.
  • Gathering scans from a phone camera into a document that can then be made searchable with OCR PDF.
  • Making a quick portfolio or contact sheet from a set of images.

What it will not do

  • Each picture becomes one page. There is no way to place several pictures on one page.
  • It places the picture as it is. It does not straighten a crooked photograph, remove shadows or fix perspective; do that in your camera app first.
  • The result contains pictures, not text. For a document you can search and copy from, run it through OCR PDF afterwards.
  • The quality of the PDF is the quality of the photographs. Large photographs make a large file, so run the result through Compress PDF if you need to email it.
  • Formats other than JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP are not accepted. A HEIC photograph from some phones needs converting to JPG first.

How it compares

Many phone scanning apps do this as part of a scan, and they are excellent when you scan the document in the first place. This tool is for pictures you have already taken, which is the common case: they are sitting in a folder and you now need a PDF.

Printing a set of images to PDF from a photo viewer works, but gives less control over page size and margins, and often changes the order. Here the order is the list you see.

Tips

  • Take photographs in good light, from straight above. A flat, evenly lit page converts and recognises far better than an angled one.
  • Choose A4 or Letter if the PDF will be printed. Choose "Same as picture" if it will only be read on screen.
